This is the fourth Malory Towers book, and as exciting and amusing as the earlier stories. As always with Enid Blyton, the whole school comes vividly to life: the girls, the teachers, the games, quarrels, the lessons and the midnight feasts.

The girls are in a higher form now, Alicia with her tricks, Darrell with her temper, timid Mary-Lou, the madcaps Belinda and Irene, and all the others. This time there is the tension of exams, but there is the fun of the summer term as well and high spirits of a lively and imaginative form of girls.
