It was a bright, crisp morning when they found the handsome Crown Prince Rudolph dead in the hunting lodge at Mayerling, a small hamlet south-west of Vienna. At his side lay the corpse of the lovely young Baroness Marie Vetsera. Why had these two attractive people - she only seventeen, he but thirty, each in the full flight of a charmed life - died when their affaire had given them so much love, beauty, and happiness? Why, too, should the Crown Prince die in so ugly a fashion? He lay in a pool of blood with a terrible head wound from a bullet fired at close range. Why, indeed, should the nymph-like Baroness be stretched on the floor, shot dead bearing every sign of a serene and peaceful end? The two had so much to live for, so much to love for. Why did their end come in that lodge, with its door darkened outside by brooding cedars of Lebanon?

Very Good (VG): I may show some small signs of wear - but no tears - on either binding or paper.
