Breeding exotic birds: A beginner's guide - Fran Gonzalez

Fran Gonzalez and her husband, Omar, have been breeding birds as a hobby since 1982. They started with Cockatiels and quickly moved up to specialize in large hookbills. In 1985 they opened a retail store in Cypress, California, that caters to bird lovers and fellow bird breeders. They have since opened a second store in Laguna Hills, California. Fran often lectures for many local bird clubs, preschools, elementary and junior high schools, sharing her enthusiasm for aviculture.

Fran enjoys reading and writing in her spare time, and her articles are frequently featured in Bird Talk Magazine, Pet Product News, PSM, Animal House Magazine, and many other trade publications.
