Whose voices matter now?

Women’s Day comes and goes every year, and we’re reminded to look back in honour of the women who marched, fought, wrote, and refused to stay quiet. That history matters. But so does the present.

Right now, in 2025, whose words are shaping the way we see the world? Which books make you stop scrolling, think twice, or mutter “yes, exactly” into your coffee? Which voices are so sharp, funny, or fearless that you find yourself texting quotes to friends at 11pm?

I want to hear from you. In honour of Women’s Day, who should we be reading? Whose voices do you think we can’t afford to miss? Send me your suggestion at info@thestorystation.co.za (No need to explain your choice, but backstories are always appreciated.)

I’ll share our readers’ picks in next week’s newsletter so your favourite might just end up on someone else’s to-be-read pile.

PS. Don't overthink it. Just go with your gut. It's usually right about books (and snacks).
