We’re not saying that the book find algorithm is a witch, but it definitely knew what it was doing this time.
A recent customer shoutout on Instagram caught our eye, not just for the kind words, but for how well it captured the delightful unpredictability of book discovery:
"After reading A Fate Inked In Blood, I knew I’d be craving more Norse mythology/Viking inspired stories very soon. As fate (pardon the pun!) would have it, The Weaver and The Witch Queen came up in a recommendation and I knew I had it have it!! I was so thrilled to find a first edition copy on @thestorystationsa website.
The @goodreads reviews are VERY mixed so it’s a little hard to figure out if this is an unnecessary impulse buy or whether it is going to be one of those hidden gem recommendations. The quotes show promise and I wait with bated breath for the latter, but a story about sisterly bonds, magic, witches and prophecy has me feeling optimistic.
That being said, I must just give a shoutout to The Story Station for the prompt shipping and pristine quality that this book arrived in. What a pleasure!"
Thank you for the shoutout Kimberley!
I’ve learned not to argue with instinct. Sometimes it’s not about whether a book turns out to be a masterpiece. If a story pulls you in, even just a little, go with it. Maybe it’ll be the book you lend to everyone. Maybe it won’t. Worst case: it’s chaotic good. Best case: you’ve just found your next obsession.
PS: No one at The Story Station is strong enough to resist a witchy, female-led Viking saga. Resistance is futile. We’ve tried.
